What is a Tegaru route package?
A route package is a single booking covering several successive shipments. Instead of creating an order every time you change city, you book the whole itinerary once, at a flat price known in advance. Each stop triggers a shipment: your luggage leaves the accommodation you are checking out of and waits for you at the next one.
The three routes below are not itinerary suggestions: they are the circuits our customers actually travel, with the matching connections. Tokyo to the Kansai, the extension out to Hiroshima, and the seasonal variant heading for the snow or for the south. If your trip follows none of these lines, single trips cover all twelve regions of the country.
Day to day, it works like any single shipment: drop-off at the konbini nearest your departure point, QR code scanned in store, next-day delivery to the following address, within the time slot you chose.

The routes cover the busiest stops on Japanese itineraries. Outside these circuits, single trips serve twelve regions: Kanto, Kansai, Chubu, Chugoku, Shikoku, Kyushu, Hokuriku, Shinetsu, North Tohoku, South Tohoku, Hokkaido and Okinawa.
Hotels, ryokan, rental apartments and private homes are all served. At a hotel, reception takes delivery for you; in an apartment, you must be there during the chosen slot.

Route package or single trips: which to choose?
Both give access to the same network and the same lead times. The difference is one of accounting and convenience. A route package fixes the price up front for a known itinerary and needs only one booking. Single trips are booked separately, at the price of the specific connection, and leave total freedom over dates and cities.
The rule of thumb: from three stops on a classic circuit, the route package is almost always the better deal. Below that, or if your itinerary falls outside the lines above, single trips cost less.
Either way the amount is shown before any commitment, and the quoted price is the final price, VAT included.
Shipments travel on the Japanese takuhaibin network — the takkyubin service run by Yamato Transport is its best known form. Everything is settled online in euros at booking: not a single yen changes hands at the drop-off counter.
